An Art Card is a small pocket-sized piece of art. They are commonly know as ACEO's (Art Cards, Editions & Originals), or as ATC's (Artist Trading Cards). ATC's are normally Originals and are most often traded between artists. ACEO's can also be traded, but are frequently offered for sale. They can be Original Artwork or prints/reproductions of Original Artwork. ACEO cards are bought, sold and traded all over the World. The Official Standard Size of an Art Card is 2.5" inches by 3.5" inches, (64 x 89 mm), and all the cards shown on my pages meet this criteria.
There are Three Main Categories of Collectible Art Cards:
Open Edition - These are prints/reproductions of artwork that have been printed in the standard card size. Open Editions can be printed and reprinted, depending on the demand for the card. There is no limit to how many will be sold or traded. Such cards are often a mini-print of a larger Original Artwork.
Limited Edition - This type is also a print/reproduction, but in this instance the artist has placed a limit to how many cards will ever be printed and sold, or traded, in each edition. These cards are more valuable than Open Edition cards, because of the limited number of each card available in the World. Limited Edition Cards are normally numbered and signed on the back of the card.
Original Artwork - This card is a unique piece of original artwork completed by the artist. It can be painted or drawn, but it will be 100% original and only one, of each such card, exists in the world. This type of card is naturally the most valuable.
