Theresa decided at six that art was her life direction. She studied at the Universities of Hawaii and Utah, Scottsdale Artist School, but life, travel, and practice were and still are her greatest teachers.
Her work is considered gestural with an accent on light.
"I look at things as shapes of color and light, therefore I am happy to paint anything that stirs my heart and mind."
Influenced by Sargent, Zorn and Schmid, Theresa strives for a mix of realism and looseness she finds emotionally and visually satisfying.
A member of many local to international art organizations including Oil Painters of America and The National Oil and Acrylic Painters Society, she has won many top awards in the past 5 years such as The Thomas Hart Benton Exhibition "Best of Show" 2006, NOAPS "Best Landscape"2005, Museum of the Southwest Peoples Choice and Honorable Mention 2006.
